Gossip

Ted was walking through a grocery store with Tim. They started talking about Sports and how some teams were having a hard time winning and other teams were dominating in Football. As Ted, picked up some Fuji Apples, he glanced over at a lady who reminded him of one of his friends named Sally. He then turns over to Tim, and says, "Have you heard that Sally cheated on her boyfriend, and they aren't even married!" Tim, looked over to Ted with a stern look, saying, "I am sorry Ted, but I do not want to talk about this. Can we talk about some more positive stuff?"

What Ted did was called Gossip, and it is a terrible thing to do! Gossip is negative talk about any person whether you know them or not. You see we can talk about the performance of a single player or a team, but when it gets down to information that very few people know about, or about negative information that the other person can't confirm that it is true or not then it is Gossip. Gossip can be about anything negative, when you start thinking about it.

You see, the Bible also talks a lot about gossip and how deadly it can destroy relationships, whether your in the business world or not. And also, another very negative thing is called Holy Gossip. Holy Gossip is when you ask people to pray for a specific person and you tell them the specific reasons why they should pray for them in a negative way. Its like this. Please pray for Greg because he is abusing his wife and hitting his children. This is very negative! Instead, you can say, "Please pray for Greg because he is going through some problems in his life, " or something like that.

Ephesians 4:29

New King James Version (NKJV)
29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

Devotional: Learn something new

This is what I wrote in the OLGA (Online Gamers Anonymous) Community.

Proverbs 1:5 (New King James Version)

Proverbs 1:5

New King James Version (NKJV)
A wise man will hear and increase learning,
And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel,

I encourage you to read a book today, and learn a lot on your favorite topic today, because that is how we are going to grow in this world. You know, we can't just keep doing the same old thing every single day. We have to learn something so that we can grow, and change ourselves for the better every single day.

Prayer:

Higher Power (Lord) Help me to learn and do your will today, and every day. Help me to grow in you and be like the wise man who will hear and increase in learning. Help me to be a man of understanding who will attain will counsel. Help me to increase in you every single day. Help my fellow OLGA buddies to quit their gaming addictions and to find you. In Jesus Name, Amen!

Challenge Question:

What can I learn today that will help me feel and be like a wise humbled man today?

What can I do differently today that will help me defeat addictions in my life?

Melchizidek

Who is Melchizidek? Was he a person or an angel on the Earth? Is he another Arch Angel other then the Arch Angel Gabriel? These and other questions have bore my mind in as I tried to study up on this question in the Bible and by prayer. But, let me tell you what I found out about him.

This is just my idea of who is Melchizidek and it could be all wrong, but I am not going to study up on it more as it is only meant to be answered in Heaven.

When Jesus Christ died on the cross, he went down and took the keys of Hell and made it possible for people to go to Heaven. After, Jesus came out of Hell , he came back to Earth to be with his disciples one last time. Then he rose up to the Heavens, and then he went back in time to be Melchizidek to give everyone hope that they can go to Heaven. He was always serving the Lord 24/7. He never died so he is either still living today or he was taken into Heaven.

Here is a scripture of Melchizidek serving the Lord in Abram's age.

Genesis 14:18-20

New King James Version (NKJV)
Abram and Melchizedek

18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. 19 And he blessed him and said:

“Blessed be Abram of God Most High,
Possessor of heaven and earth;
20 And blessed be God Most High,
Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.”

And he gave him a tithe of all.

So it all is a mystery, and probably will never be answered until we get to Heaven! God Bless you!

Fasting

This topic is a very important subject to cover, because it will help you reach places that you never reached before. Well, why is this the most important subject and why should I fast. Am I going to get anything out of this? I tell you that you are going to get more then what you asked for.

When you fast for a particular thing or you fast to grow in the Lord, then strongholds start falling down all around you. Strongholds like fear, rebellion, shame, and guilt. Family, work, friends, and Spiritual issues start falling down to the ground, because when you fast then you are humbling yourself before the Lord. You are saying spiritually, "Ok, Lord, you are in control!" The Lord wantrs you to fast.

When I started fasting a while ago, then I all of a sudden I get this feeling that I want to serve the Lord more. Also, an issue that was out of my control just disappeared and the Lord blessed me so much! It also humbled me too.

Isaiah 58:6

New King James Version (NKJV)

6 “Is this not the fast that I have chosen:
To loose the bonds of wickedness,
To undo the heavy burdens,
To let the oppressed go free,
And that you break every yoke?

So, the Lord even says it in the Bible too. I have found so much scripture in the Bible that it is unbelievable. But, I would like to challenge you to fast for a specific reason and see if the Lord changes a situation in your life. The Lord is all powerful and he has unlimited power so I know that he will change your life for the better. I love you all and God bless!

Don't be so quick to judge

Within the last few weeks, the Lord started showing me that I was judging a lot of stuff. I was judging my family, my friends, and even the church. I was assuming and saying stuff that were not true. You know the Lord talks a lot about judging others. He said in Matthew 7:1-5,

Matthew 7:1-5

New King James Version (NKJV)
Do Not Judge

7 “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. 3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

We can't just assume stuff with people. It is wrong and very deadly, because when we die and go to the throne of judgement, then the Lord will judge us to the measure we have given others. According to the dictionary, judging someone means to make a mental judgement. That would mean that when you make a mental judgement then it changes your entire decision process about that particular thing, or person to corrupt thinking. So, ask yourself, whether you are judging someone or not.

Prayer

Is prayer a monologue or a dialogue? Is it a set structure that you have to pray every single day? Is it just reading a set of words every single time that you pray? I used to think that all of these questions were statements. I used to think that I had to ask the Lord for forgiveness every single time that I pray. Well, this was a fear in my life that I have destroyed. But, let me tell you what prayer really is.

It is a free flow relationship with our best friend, the Lord Jesus Christ! Just think, how would you treat your best friend? You wouldn't always say sorry to him and ask for forgiveness. You wouldn't say a set dialogue to him every single time you see him. No, you would want to get to know him better. You would want to hang out with him. You would do everything you can to increase your relationship with him.

That is what we have to do with our Lord! We do not just get down on our knees to pray. We can raise our arms, leap for joy, bow down to him, and more. We can meditate, sleep, watch sermons, read a spiritual book, and even go on walks. It says in Philippians 4:6

Philippians 4:6
New International Version (NIV)

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

 This verse has grabbed at me, because I have been dealing a lot with fear. So, when I have a fear, or start worrying, and being anxious, then I can start praying. Someone from my church told me that fear and prayer cannot be combined, which means that whenever I start worrying then I can start praying. That is so awesome!

I have 2 articles that you can read to further study what prayer is.

Meditation

A few years ago, I started learning about meditation and how it relates to the Bible. I used to think the meditation is only thinking about the Lord. Wow, am I so wrong. Just a few days ago, I started reading more on meditation and how it is used in the Bible. I didn't even know that you can meditate on verses and that will greatly help you memorize verses, because I think that it is God that is quickening your memorization as long as you meditate on them too.

Psalm 23rd is a good chapter to start memorizing and meditating on.

Psalm 23
New King James Version (NKJV)
The Lord the Shepherd of His People
A Psalm of David.

23 The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.

In verse one you can think the Lord being a shepherd having outstretched arms coming toward you. He starts giving you a lot of gifts that you had needed, then you start running toward the Lord in tears. He starts caressing you as you bask in His presence.

Isn't that a sweet thing just to imagine the Lord all day long and the verses in the Bible. Its just a sweet thing! Now go to verse 2 and start meditating on it and go on to the next verse after that. You might meditate on things for a few minutes to a few hours. Awesome!

God Bless!
